LITTLE SLUGGERS RULES
GAMES
RULES OF PLAY
- All players get to play the field - no one sits on the bench.
- All players get to bat - in any order, in any inning.
- All players remain on the bench until it is their turn to bat.
- The only player who will be allowed to swing/hold a bat is the batter.
IMPORTANT: Over the years, a number of players and spectators
have been hit with a bat by young players, who in their eagerness to
swing a bat, do not look around to see if anyone is near where/when
they are swinging.
- Each batter may continue batting until they hit a
fair ball.
- No runners are called out. If the play results in an
out, the player remains on the base (as if they were safe).
- When a ball is put in play, all runners may only advance one
base (unless it's the last batter - see rule 10).
- When all players on one team complete their turn at bat , the other team comes off the field to bat.
- Coaches must call/declare last batter.
- The last batter may advance all the way around the bases
regardless of whether they are tagged or forced out.
- No scores and/or standings are kept.
- The emphasis must be on FUN and helping the children develop a love of the game.
